Professional Experience

Mr. Seiden is a lawyer, former prosecutor and a licensed private investigator and security professional. He is an authority on investigative matters and law enforcement, with additional extensive knowledge and expertise on both physical and computer security issues.

Mr. Seiden's professional career began in 1988 as a prosecutor in the Manhattan District Attorney's Office where he investigated and prosecuted hundreds of criminal cases, including white collar crime and crimes of violence. With over 50 trials, some of his cases received great public attention during the 1990's and he received honors for his work from the New York City Police Department.

Some of Mr. Seiden’s significant cases include People v. Edmund Ko, the murder of the Columbia University law student by her boyfriend, who was convicted using results of mitochondrial DNA typing, used for the first time in New York State; People v. Mark Glass, a landlord in Brooklyn who arranged for two complaining tenants to be killed, was convicted of arson and attempted murder and is currently serving his seven year sentence; People v. Delury, the World Almanac writer and editor who helped his 52-year-old wife commit suicide was sentenced to six months for attempted manslaughter; and various cases of gang prosecution of the Bloods and Crips in Manhattan.

Additionally, Mr. Seiden conducted training and educational sessions for new prosecutors, police officers, community boards and schools. He left the District Attorney's Office in 1999 as a Senior Prosecutor. Mr. Seiden previously clerked for the Honorable Mark Costantino, a federal judge in the Eastern District of New York.

After leaving the District Attorney's Office, Mr. Seiden worked at a New York City-based law firm where he handled consumer fraud, litigation and criminal investigative matters in the state and federal courts of New York.

Mr. Seiden is a New York University graduate who attended the Benjamin Cardozo School of Law where he was a Dr. Belkin Academic Scholar and the Board Editor of the Moot Court Honor Society, which prepares bench memoranda for use in university competition.

Mr. Seiden is a Commissioner of the Town of North Hempstead, Long Island, New York, and the elected President of the School Board of the Port Washington School District. He is also a Trustee and Vice President of the Port Washington Senior Citizens, Inc. on Long Island.

Mr. Seiden also has extensive knowledge in the areas of technology, computer forensics and security. He is the immediate past Chair of the Long Island Software and Technology Network Security Committee, and has been an advisor to businesses on computer security and related matters.

National and legal media outlets extensively quote Robert Seiden. He has spoken widely on a range of investigative and security matters. In addition to speaking at various Fortress Global hosted functions and events, Mr. Seiden has recently participated in a Practicing Law Institute program targeted at private practitioners and corporate counsel on the topic of investigative due diligence. Mr. Seiden has moderated several United States Department of State International Visitor Program events on topics including terrorism prevention and white collar crime. In addition, Mr. Seiden spoke at an Association of Corporate Counsel event on corporate governance. Mr. Seiden has also appeared on television to speak on investigative matters including on Court TV and CNBC.
